Speech pathologists can help both adults and children by working towards improving communication, literacy and swallowing skills.

This may include:

  • Reducing the impact of language delays/disorders

  • Improving pronunciation

  • Reducing the presence of a stutter

  • Help with reading and writing

  • Help with auditory memory, auditory processing, and listening skills

  • Assistance with social skills and social communication (body language, tone of voice etc)

  • Assistance with fussy feeding, tube feeding/weaning, and swallowing disorders (dysphagia)

  • Assistance with breast and bottle feeding

  • Using an alternative method of communication for clients who have difficulty communicating using words (eg iPad, eye gaze or switch technology, visuals etc).

  • Improving voice disorders
